Dear Friend of the Oley Community Library,

You have probably noticed that our annual giving campaign letter is quite scaled
down from previous years, where we sent out a colorful brochure. We simply can’t afford
to do that anymore. Envelopes and stamps are expensive and sadly, we did not get many
answers to our 2024 appeal. We are looking for ways to cut our expenses wherever we
can. As you know, we tragically lost our library director, Jasmine Bryant, and we all feel
that we are struggling along, trying to determine the best way forward.

The library is still open and offering the same services and programs that we did
before. We have Libby, a free digital app for you to borrow e-books, etc. We offer not only
books, but DVDs, passes to Museum and zoos, history and science centers and more, and
our library of things such as games, kitchen and outdoor tools, a telescope and more. You
can continue to request books from other libraries through us and return books from other
libraries to us for pick up from the Berks Library System.

We offer two programs sponsored by the Oley Valley Community Education
Foundation: the weekly pre-school story time and our summer learning program.
Additionally there are programs such as the monthly book club offered at the library and
our weekly craft Tuesday.

Watch for information about the Christmas House Tour on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025.
And if you have any free time that you would like to share, please leave your contact
information with any staff member when you come in. But most importantly we rely on
donations and fundraisers to keep going. We hope that you can help us. A big thank you in
